Last time in a Cedarcrest uniform. 🥹 In a win-or-go-home district playoff battle, Cedarcrest and Renton delivered a gritty, defensive showdown that came down to the final possessions. Despite a fierce fourth‑quarter push, Cedarcrest fell just short, dropping a 41–39 heartbreaker that ended the Red Wolves’ season. First Half Renton opened strong, using early second‑chance opportunities and timely threes to build a 12–6 lead after one. Cedarcrest found its rhythm in the second quarter behind aggressive rebounding and steady defensive stops, clawing back to trail just 22–16 at halftime. Cedarcrest Highlights Kiki Anderson powered the Red Wolves offensively, scoring a game‑high 13 points while grabbing 8 rebounds and battling through constant defensive pressure. Avery Dice anchored the paint with an impressive 15 rebounds, adding 3 points and a steal in a strong all-around effort. Stella Metcalf contributed across the board with 5 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and a game‑high 6 steals, showcasing relentless effort on both ends. Maddie Davis added 6 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists, while Willow Ash chipped in 7 points including a key three-pointer that fueled Cedarcrest’s late run. Off the bench, Emma Plecher provided a perfect shooting night, scoring 5 points on 2‑for‑2 from the field. Cedarcrest dominated the glass with 48 total rebounds, including 23 offensive boards, creating numerous second‑chance opportunities. Second Half & Final Minutes The Red Wolves surged after halftime, outscoring Renton 23–19 over the final two quarters. Cedarcrest held Renton to just 10 points in the fourth, giving themselves multiple chances to tie or take the lead. With under a minute left, Cedarcrest cut the deficit to two on a put-back bucket. A defensive stop gave them the ball back, but the final possession ended in a contested miss as time expired. Despite the loss, Cedarcrest battled with heart, effort, and toughness—embodying the resilience that defined their season. The Red Wolves finish their year with pride, having fought to the final whistle in one of the most intense games of the district tournament.

The Red Wolves controlled the interior and relied on efficient scoring in the paint to secure the win. Senior forward Kiki Anderson was unstoppable, powering Cedarcrest with 23 points and 11 rebounds on 9-for-17 shooting. Anderson consistently punished Foster inside and at the free‑throw line (5–8 FT), setting the tone with relentless physicality. Secondary scoring and ball movement shine as the team delivered timely production: Stella Metcalf was outstanding in her minutes, scoring 8 points while adding 4 assists and 5 steals. Her efficiency and defensive disruption were game‑changers. Maddie Davis provided a steady two‑way performance with 9 points, 3 assists, and just 1 turnover. Willow Ash added 6 points and 5 rebounds, continuing to provide reliable interior defense. UPDATED: See Below Rooters Bus to District Playof UPDATED: See Below Rooters Bus to District Playoff Girls/Boys Basketball There will be a Rooters Bus departing at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18th, to Foster High School for District Playoff Basketball. Girls Game: vs. Renton at 6:00 p.m. Boys Game: vs. Foster at 7:30 p.m. Both games are winner/loser out to State, so come support our teams! The bus will begin loading at 4:15 p.m. Please arrive early. Sign up in the main office. There is room for 40 Red Wolf student fans! Free entry to the game for the 40 Red Wolf student fans that sign up! Bus will head home directly after the boys game concludes. Please note that anyone riding the rooter bus needs a field trip form signed by a parent or guardian prior to boarding the bus.

Cedarcrest 48, Cleveland 33 Cedarcrest delivered a complete team performance to extend its postseason run with a 48–33 victory over Cleveland in a loser‑out district matchup. The Red Wolves controlled the game on both ends of the floor, winning three of four quarters and holding Cleveland to just 20% shooting from the field and 15% on two‑point attempts. Cedarcrest’s efficiency inside proved decisive, led by a breakout performance from Senior Kiki Anderson. Anderson was nearly unstoppable in the paint, finishing 10-of-13 from the field on her way to a game‑high 22 points, adding 5 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block. Alongside her, Senior Avery Dice delivered one of the most well-rounded stat lines of the night. In 21 minutes, Dice, scored 4 points, dished out 5 assists, and grabbed 10 rebounds leading to control of the interior on both ends. Sophomore guard Maddie Davis added key scoring and tempo control for Cedarcrest, finishing with 11 points, 4 assists, and 4 steals while attacking the lane throughout the night. Stella Metcalf quietly delivered one of the night’s best all-around efforts: 6 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals, helping anchor Cedarcrest’s defensive pressure that forced Cleveland into 25 turnovers. Cedarcrest trailed 13–12 after the first quarter and entered halftime trailing 19–20 after a low‑scoring second period. The Red Wolves controlled the paint early, winning the rebounding battle and generating second‑chance opportunities behind the activity of Kiki Anderson, Avery Dice, and Stella Metcalf. Second Half: Momentum Swings Cedarcrest erupted for 21 points in the third quarter, their best offensive frame of the night. But Nathan Hale answered with a huge final period, outscoring Cedarcrest 23–15 behind a barrage of threes and free throws from their leading scorer, Boise State commit Zia-Daye Anderson, who finished with 45 points. Despite Cedarcrest’s defensive intensity and multiple late-game stops, Hale’s perimeter shooting proved to be the difference. Cedarcrest continues on in the consolation bracket with a game at 1:30pm on 2/14 at Foster High School. They will play Cleveland in this loser out matchup.

Cedarcrest set the tone early with a 22–4 first‑quarter burst and took a 41–13 lead into halftime. The Red Wolves shot an impressive 52.2% from the field, including 56.4% on two‑pointers, while holding Lindbergh to just 15.7% shooting overall and 0% from three‑point range. Senior forward Kiki Anderson delivered a breakout postseason performance, scoring a game‑high 19 points on 8‑of‑12 shooting while adding 4 rebounds, 5 steals, and 4 blocks. Fellow senior Avery Dice was nearly perfect from the floor, finishing with 8 points and 6 rebounds on 6‑for‑9 shooting. Renton Claims KingCo Girls Basketball Championship Renton Claims KingCo Girls Basketball Championship with 50–40 Victory over Cedarcrest The Cedarcrest Red Wolves battled with heart and resilience but ultimately fell 50–40 to Renton in the KingCo Girls Basketball Championship on Saturday night, closing out a hard-fought league title game between two of the conference’s top programs. Cedarcrest set the tone early, taking a 15–13 lead after the first quarter behind strong interior play and disciplined defense. The Red Wolves continued to compete possession by possession, but Renton’s balanced scoring and rebounding depth began to shift momentum in the middle quarters. Renton outscored Cedarcrest 11–4 in the second quarter and 14–7 in the third to build a lead they would maintain through the final horn. Despite the loss, Cedarcrest delivered a determined performance anchored by Stella Metcalf, who led the Red Wolves with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals, showcasing her all-around impact on both ends of the floor. Senior Kiki Anderson added a strong presence in the paint with 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks, while Senior Avery Dice contributed 8 points, 7 rebounds, and a three-pointer, providing energy and versatility. Cedarcrest’s defensive pressure was evident throughout the game, forcing Renton into 18 turnovers and recording 10 steals and 5 blocks as a team. Maddie Davis played a key role defensively and as a facilitator, finishing with 5 assists, 4 steals, and a block, while helping control the tempo. The Red Wolves continued to fight late, outscoring Renton 12–14 in the fourth quarter, but were unable to close the gap as Renton sealed the win from the free-throw line and on second-chance opportunities. Cedarcrest finished the night shooting 39% from the field and holding Renton to 27.6% overall shooting, underscoring the defensive intensity that defined the Red Wolves’ championship run. While the final score favored Renton, Cedarcrest’s appearance in the KingCo Championship reflects a season marked by growth, toughness, and teamwork. The Red Wolves now turn their attention to postseason play, carrying forward the experience and confidence gained on the league’s biggest stage.
