Varsity Coach: Marc Hillestad

Marc Hillestad is a resolute and enthusiastic educator with over three decades of experience in Career and Technical Education (CTE) and 40-plus seasons as a coach across three sports and all levels of WIAA classifications (B to 4A). Marc has successfully developed and led comprehensive education and athletic programs, fostering environments where students thrive both academically and personally. His leadership extends beyond the classroom, having served as a mentor to new teachers, union leadership, and non-profit Chair. Marc’s commitment to excellence is evident in his numerous accolades, including multiple Coach of the Year awards across multiple sports, six state academic championships, and multiple state placings. Known for his passion, dedication, and organizational skills, Marc continues to inspire and positively impact the lives of students, educators, and the community. He is honored to return to the helm of Cedarcrest Girls’ Basketball and knows our addition to the KingCo Conference will be a successful one.

Volunteer Assistant Coach: Ryan Burklo

Coach Ryan grew up around the world as part of a military family, finding his sense of community through sports. He competed in basketball, soccer, and tennis from Greece to Maryland before settling in Redmond, WA. A longtime volunteer coach for his kids, Coach Ryan aims to build a girls’ basketball program grounded in hard work and teamwork. He believes that by putting in the effort and supporting one another, the players will gain the confidence to compete at their highest level.
